Mrs. Johnston’s class has been studying the life cycle of a chicken. We have waited patiently for 21 days as we candled eggs, created the different stages and watch our chicks grow. Our chicks have hatched and we couldn’t be more “egg”cited!
What do you do after a month full of tests? You touch grass! Fourth and 5th graders harvested carrots in the school garden for a much needed nature break!
The STEAM club is having fun learning about the contributions of Black American scientists, engineers, and inventors this month. Students built space shuttles and invented their own products. Stayed tuned for more Black History Month STEAM fun!
Thank you NASA! This week in STEM class, we enjoyed coding solar systems and adding musical notes to our orbiting planets on your free coding platform. STEM is more fun when we partner with great organizations like NASA!
Did you know Park Hill students represent around 30 different cultures from around the world? Students learned about these cultures during our Winter STEM unit. From Lunar New Year to Diwali and beyond, students shared their stories as they completed fun STEM challenges!
Ewwww! Mrs. Parson’s class visited the pumpkin graveyard during STEM class. Park Hill scientists will be observing how microbes and fungi help pumpkins decompose in the Nature Nook—our outdoor classroom!
STEAM Club is off to a great beginning this Fall! We have had fun with team building activities, we made exploding “pumpkins”, made straw rockets, and had fun with pumpkin slime! Our club has doubled this year and three volunteers have joined us!
