I was watching Lord of the Rings. It's set in middle earth, during the Third Age - and this scene pops up.

In the foreground:
4 hobbits, including a pair of hobbit twins
1 Dwarf
3 Humans (Including a Wizard???)
1 Elf

It immediately stuck out to me, so I looked up the actual demographics for Rivendell in the Third age.

Here's what the numbers say:
-Rivendell's population: Estimated in the hundreds, possible up to three thousand
-A vast majority were Elves, a mix of Noldor, Sindar and Silvan
-A small number of Dunedain Rangers, Men, along with their sons
-A single Hobbit, meaning roughly 1 total in the entire city.

So if you ran the math on the odds of seeing all that - 4 hobbits, 3 men, 1 elf, 1 dwarf - in one random crowd in Rivendell, it comes out to about A BAZILLION TO ONE

In other words, they made a scene that is about as statistically likely as spotting a stupid ass culture war grifter on your twitter feed - but hey, at least the diversity box got checked.
