“No one should think that just because we are making progress, there is room for complacency. We are not where we want to be yet, the journey is still long. There is still a lot of work to do, and it still requires your service and resilience. You, the young people, still have so much to give as we move forward.
The Rwanda Defence Force has played a role in building and developing our nation, and continues to do so to this day. By joining this profession, that is what the country expects from each and everyone of you, both now and in the future.
As you take on your roles, remember that service to Rwandans is your foremost duty.
When you serve Rwandans, the people you come from, your brothers and sisters, you are working for yourself.
The future of our country is in your hands. We see your potential, use it to the best of your abilities. We have high expectations of you.” -President Kagame
President Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame joined the Officer Cadets Commissioning Ceremony in Gako where over 1,000 new officers received the rank of 2Lt.
Rwanda Defence Force cadet officers celebrated 25 years of Gako Military Academy with a vibrant parade, forming the numbers “12” for the 12th graduating class, “2000” for the inaugural cohort, “2025” for this year’s milestone, and “25” to honor the academy’s legacy.
We Rwandans are disciplined and we understand the importance of having integrity. I am waiting for some racists and ignorante people in the comment section who will be barking about something unpleasant just because it’s an African country.
Rwanda is organised from A to Z. We protect what we have built.
Happy Patriotism Day 🇷🇼✊🏾❤️.
We are deeply grateful for the sacrifices made to liberate our nation. We pledge to work tirelessly to uphold, safeguard, and build upon the achievements made. #Inkotanyi

“I can’t afford to behave the way you want me to behave in dealing with this problem. Please, also understand us and understand the people you are dealing with. We are not the same old idiots you dealt with fifty years ago. We are not. Not at all, not anywhere near to that.” President Kagame

“Our history defines our identity as Rwandans. Whether you embrace it or not, your essence remains. Being Rwandan is an indelible part of you. You might choose to renounce it, adopt another nationality, become a neighbor, or even a distant foreigner—perhaps a European or an American—and obtain their passport. You have the right to feel that way. However, upon reflection, one should remind others that if you are Rwandan, you are Rwandan. Additional identities are possible but do not erase your native roots.” President Kagame | 17th Annual Unity Club Forum.
Truly heartbreaking to learn of the passing of a community volunteer, devoted to helping survivors of the genocide against Tutsis in Hamilton and across Canada 🇨🇦!
I met @erixonkabera 2 years ago, I’ve spoken to his family and they’re devastated and are expecting a fair investigation on how he was murdered. We are hoping that minister @MPPKerzner can help with a fair & speedy SIU set of charges!
