Teacher. Scientist. @MIT and @UIUC alum. Former tenured @CSUF prof. Former Democratic candidate in CA39. #TeamGil. Currently @GoGuardian. Thoughts are my own.
We've come a long way since I announced my campaign at CSUF last April. However I will not be completing the filing process to be on the June ballot. I still promise to be engaged & will do everything I can to help Dems win up & down the ballot! https://t.co/6W51keZsxf
I've been getting many questions and phone calls the past couple months about my future plans. I'm excited to announce the next big phase of my life, and I'd love to have your support.

One year ago, I read @goguardian’s State of Engagement Report and knew I had to work here. Now, I’m a co-author on this year’s report with over 460 participants from multiple states and school types. Check out the report and let me know what you think! https://t.co/DLzYmX6yfw
Growing up in Korea, my mom was constantly told that once you turn 40 you’re a “withered flower.” Seeing older Korean women celebrated like this makes my heart FULL. 😭🌸
For me, the toughest part of remote teaching was being able to connect with my students face-to-face seemlessly. So, that’s why we at @GoGuardian built Video Conferencing specifically for K12: to ensure that #teachers & #students stay connected. 🙂 #edtech https://t.co/6d2MElRjtU
If you heard making macarons was hard… that is exactly right. 😂Shoutout to Molly J. Wilk’s awesome virtual macaron class for tips and tricks! Link ➡️ https://t.co/aW5eWNgVsz
Thanks for having me today, @Mechanophore and @MooreGroupUIUC ! It was great talking with the leaders of tomorrow, today. And still, I live by IAATC: It’s All About the Change! @ChemistryUIUC@Illinois_Alma PS: maybe I should rock that hair again from 2009... hmm...
On June 10, 2020 the @MooreGroupUIUC held a group discussion in solidarity with #ShutDownSTEM. We expressed our frustration around current events including systemic racism and the Hudlicky essay recently published in @angew_chem.
Universities and departments, let’s stop acting like we’re doing Black people a favor by hiring them as faculty or admitting them as students. Let’s instead focus on dismantling racism and biased policies and creating an environment where everyone truly has equal opportunities.
