@jayme_poisson So happy to hear your voice again! Great questions, but I was worried you were letting him get off with all his bullshit non answers until you called him on it later in the interview. I’m not convinced we need a new ruling party, but we certainly need a new PM
@aphallam I loved your book on investing for expats. But I have to say, some of the advice is outdated. Unless I’m mistaken, you said Canadians can invest with DBS Vickers from anywhere. I tried to open an account with them recently and they told me I need to live in Singapore.
U.S. Speaker of the House @SpeakerPelosi has arrived in Taipei, defying threats that China's military would "not standby" if she came to Taiwan. Pelosi is the first House speaker to visit Taiwan in 25 years. @james_chater was at Songshan Airport.
Thank you @elamin88 for your work and being a part of Canada! Rosemary is excellent, but I listen to Party Lines because of you and your contribution to the national conversation as a Muslim Canadian
Taiwan also has had fewer overall cases and deaths than the Channel Islands and have never been into lockdown. What I don’t understand is why every news organisation on earth, it seems, is willfully forgetting Taiwan’s incredible, really top in the world, response to covid.
@TheEconomist on your “Viral defences” episode of Babbage, Dr. Nicola Brink says they had the only pride festival in the northern hemisphere. I can’t fault her for not fact checking, but as a news organisation how could you miss the fact that Taiwan has had at least 3?
@TangerineHelps 🙄🙄🙄 the PROBLEM is that my pin is locked. The problem is that I can’t log in. Are you even paying attention to the details of my request?
@zackbeauchamp@jenn_ruth
I love #Worldly and listen to every episode, but how can you do an episode about the death of one country two systems in #HongKong and not say the word “#Taiwan” even once? I’ve noticed @voxdotcom is allergic to the mention of Taiwan.
Disappointing
mention the international support for Taiwan’s inclusion, including by Alex Azar speaking at the WHA. I mean, I know you can’t cover everything, but this is not really a side issue. Taiwan is doing the best in the world and is being held back from sharing that expertise
@rameswaram man, I love Today Explained and I listen to it every day, but I’m really disappointed that you seem to be allergic to talking about Taiwan. You praise South Korea’s covid response (deservedly) but don’t even say Taiwan’s name when we haven’t had any new local
infections in over a month and just had almost two straight weeks with 0 new infections total (i.e. no imported cases). And in your latest episode about the WHO you don’t mention how it leaves Taiwan out despite Taiwan giving early warnings about covid. You also failed to
