Your policies will not leave much for future generations to have. These people are promoting temporary feel-good fixes that will cost way more in the long run. Capping rents (temporary - creates more problems with upkeep, diminishing construction of new housing developments, shrinking inventory), taxing the wealthy (temporary - wealth vanishes when the private sector is plundered with no way to grow), defunding police (Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters?).
Republicans don’t give a shit about you. They don’t care about our kids, our schools, or our teachers. It’s time to flip the legislature and finally build a Wisconsin worthy of the next generation.
She is correct in that she's currently NOT vocalizing this priority on her campaign trail, but she also has a clear record of supporting this exact political goal before. Also, while she cannot directly defund the police she can propose and veto budgets.
Once again: I am not running to defund the police. And to be clear, the governor cannot defund the police.
My administration will prioritize public safety & justice for victims. If you want to talk about who's actually defunding public safety, start with @ScottWalker & @repvos!
The next Democratic president needs to what exactly? You sound as if the next Democratic president can just wave a magic wand and give you whatever you want. There are these things called checks and balances that are built into our government for a reason. You sound as if you're secretly wishing a Democratic president will just stage a coup and unilaterally declare into law everything that's on the progressive wish list.
Maybe if someone promises to fight for some regulation while also protecting private industry - without demonizing it - you'd find better longterm solutions instead of pitting general consumers against wealth creators. This class war will result in sh*t for everyone. Consumers included! Oh, yeah, and maybe government should be more efficient.
WILD TAKE: CO-1 DSA Nominee Melat Kiros: “I don’t think there is anything more American than subscribing to an economic philosophy that, as the evidence shows, is the only one that is actually capable of delivering things like life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
PBS Margaret Hoover: “Socialism has proven to deliver on the values of Declartation of Independence more than capitalism has?”
Melat Kiros: “Yeah.”
Please reference Cuba, Venezuela, and the Soviet Union as clear examples where socialism has not only FAILED, but has produced FAMINE and WIDESPREAD poverty.
The economic literacy of young communists comes down to "people just charge others for goods and services because they want to." They fantasize about the day when the desire to earn money is eliminated from human nature so they can live like kings without ever working. Problem is, the goods and services they have now will diminish because people will have stopped producing. The incentive people will have to produce anything in that society will be threat of punishment for non-cooperation.
Already, we see they're willing to punish people for not wanting to go along with this.
There is a full blown demoralization op taking place in this country. So for what it’s worth…just remember that most of the influencers telling you everything sucks, we’re all doomed and theirs is the only voice you can trust…yeahthey’re probably getting paid a lot for that.
@clairlemon If realism wasn't the point, why is the score slavishly grounded in realistic instrumentation and structure that was true to the period? Nolan even said that he went direction because they wouldn't have had symphony orchestras back then.
The Communists are inside the gates! It’s time for all freedom-loving Americans to stand and be counted, and help us defeat this MADNESS. By God’s grace, we will.
Artists have broken a certain trust with their audiences. They have denounced then, ridiculed them, mocked them, and given them lengthy lectures on how they're no longer relevant to the arts. The Odyssey film's general pre-release reception is a result of the last decade of Hollywood's hateful marketing and celebrity condescension. The audiences are conditioned to expect the worst.
I've never understood why Christopher Nolan's THE ODYSSEY has to have some kind of historical fealty to an era. It's not real history. Baz Luhrmann's ROMEO + JULIET doesn't. Richard Loncraine's doesn't. But no one complained about them. https://t.co/noCKATkd3K
@oh_HOLMES@BasedMan877393 Anyone who holds to this logic would give themselves permission to dispatch of anyone they consider a traitor. Not a road anyone should go down.
