Kenya is a blessed Country
As we aspire to build strong families and a better nation, we must pursue both the hardware and the software that underpin strong societies.
Improvement of our economic infrastructure like roads, electricity and internet connectivity; bettering our social amenities like schools and health facilities as well as the pursuit of better incomes form the hardware of nation-building.
For our all-round prosperity, we require to supplement this crucial national hardware with the software of positive social values, love for one another and for our country, stronger families and inter-generational solidarity.
Honoured to join the family of Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano during the wedding of their son Peter and his bride Wambui.
Family, friends and dignitaries including Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretatries were present.
The last weekend of the festive season offers the opportunity to get set for a critical year in the implementation of THE PLAN, 2022-2027.
Sustaining the prevailing macroeconomic stability, empowerment of citizens through creation of jobs and income opportunities, enhancement of household incomes, transformation of critical value chains and completion of strategic infrastructure projects remain the Government’s top five priorities for 2025.
While progress in the delivery of these priorities provide the hardware for taking Kenya forward, we must simultaneously confront the software threats that have slowed down the pace of our progress since our nation was founded three score years ago: division, prideful bigotry, hate, chauvinism, negativity, corruption, greed and the spectacular relegation of family values.
Deliberate interventions over the last two years have yielded steady macroeconomic recovery.
The Kenyan shilling has strengthened against major currencies, inflation and interest rates have significantly declined, while the prices of fuel and essential household commodities are progressively reducing.
In 2025, the Government is accelerating key interventions for microeconomic recovery, job and wealth creation as well as enhancement of household incomes.
Sustained reforms targeting key value chains in agriculture, livestock, fisheries and the blue economy; completion of the first cohort of special economic zones, affordable housing projects, modern markets, ICT Hubs and County Aggregation and Industrial Parks will stimulate growth and drive up per capita income.
By end of the year, Kenya’s ambitious Universal Health Coverage Program- Taifa Care- and the ongoing education reforms will go a long way in minimizing out of pocket expenses on health and education, leaving households with more disposable incomes.
This is the year that the hard and difficult task of transforming our country will start yielding returns.
The beginning of the year provides all of us with the opportunity to renew our collective focus on project Kenya. Now is the time for each citizen to freshen the resolve to work harder towards a better future and a more cohesive nation. This way, we will expedite the realization of our vision of a society free from fear and want. God bless this our land and nation.
Starting the year with renewed hope and a call to action from Deputy President Kithure Kindiki. Let's commit to building a better Kenya together, one step, one effort at a time 🙏 🇰🇪
Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has emphasized that the final weekend of the festive season is a pivotal moment to prepare for a transformative year ahead in implementing The Plan, 2022-2027.
The Government's top five priorities for 2025 include sustaining macroeconomic stability, creating jobs and income opportunities, boosting household incomes, transforming critical value chains, and completing strategic infrastructure projects.
While progress in these areas provides the foundation for national growth, Prof. Kindiki has urged Kenyans to address the societal challenges that have hindered progress since independence—division, bigotry, corruption, and the erosion of family values.
By uniting against these threats, the nation can secure a brighter, more inclusive future.
