In about 4,300 (VIS) and 8,600 (TIR) images we have captured almost everything - fires and smoke, volcanos and stars, cities at night and sunny coasts...
But nothing beats the horizon before the endless black!
Happy 2 years in orbit #TUBIN!
Latest software updates on #TUBIN finally got the X band downlink stable enough for regular use - and of course everyone jumped at the possibility to do high resolution videos now - here's the first one showing a pass over the "Eye of the Sahara", the #Richat structure!
1 year ago @TUBerlin launched #TUBIN on @SpaceX's Transporter-2 into its mission to detect #wildfires with microbolometer #infrared cameras. ๐ฐ๏ธ๐ฅ
The 2nd mission year will be dedicated to automated on-board fire detection and hopefully be just as successful!
#HappyBirthday
Each and every satellite of #TUBerlin should image the Palm Islands of #Dubai at least once just to compare the different cameras.
This is #TUBIN's take. ๐
Falcon 9 and 88 spacecraft are vertical on pad 40 ahead of todayโs launch. The 58-minute window opens at 2:56 p.m. EDT, and the webcast will go live about 15 minutes before liftoff โ https://t.co/bJFjLCilmc
Targeting Tuesday, June 29 for launch of Transporter-2. This mission will launch 88 spacecraft to orbit and more customer mass than SpaceXโs previous dedicated rideshare mission
@TUBspace fingers crossed for first contact - and toes curled, just for that extra bit of luck ๐คช
now lean back, order a tomatoe juice and enjoy the ride!
Follow the view of @TUBerlin's #TechnoSat while taking the 50000th #ImagesFromSpace last saturday in the video below.
BTW: We know where the images were taken - do you? The first to identify the area in the video gets to select a target that we will image and provide as a video!
@astro_luca In our video you can really grasp the depth of the hurricane's eye... Guess this is what it looked like for @astro_luca
