“But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return, and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be sons of the Highest; for he is good to the unthankful and wicked (Luke 6:35 DARBY).”
Magnificent sermon! Idk if we would say this is a Dispie sermon, but definitely one with a very strong focus on a future for Israel, and in preaching the Gospel to the Jewish people, and in treating them well—loving them. @revivedthoughts https://t.co/QeG0takT1k
@RevivedThoughts For sure. I was surprised how pro Jewish this message was given it was preached in a time not kind to the Jews and with a theology that’s still not popular, today!
“Reminding yourself of God's promises is the bedrock of assurance. After all, it's faith in Jesus that brings salvation in the first place. So to defeat doubts about your salvation, you simply need to look to him again in faith, believing what he has said.

Have you noticed how directly Paul ties the gospel to the written word?
So with yourselves, if with your tongue you utter speech that is not intelligible, how will anyone know what is said? 1 Cor 14:9
Intelligible here is the single occurring εὔσημος (eusēmos). Knowledge of English etymology helps figure it out. eu = well, i.e., eulogy, euphemism. And sēmos reminds one of semiotics, meaning. Stick them together, and you get "well signified," i.e., intelligible.
Linguistic Legos for the win. 👍
Rest in peace to John Blanche. The artist who defined Warhammer 40k. He was legitimately a visionary and creative genius.
Take today to look at his works, there's nothing else like them. A very sad day indeed.
If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority. Jn. 7:17
This is key and more important than often considered. Understanding is not just a mental exercise but also importantly a heart exercise.
