Claude Mellan's Face of Christ, also known as The Sudarium of Saint Veronica (1649), is one of the most technically extraordinary works in art history...
The entire portrait is rendered using a single, continuous spiralling line that begins at the tip of Christ's nose and expands outward to the edges of the cloth.
Mellan achieved the illusion of depth, shadow, and facial features without any cross-hatching or traditional shading. Instead, he precisely varied the thickness and pressure of the burin (his engraving tool) as he rotated the copper plate, creating "swelling" lines that darken the image where needed.
The spiralling line is estimated to be approximately 150m (about 500ft) long if it were stretched out.

Link Wray, performing “Rumble” in 1974. In the 1950s when it was released, it was censored. It became the most banned song in history.
It had NO LYRICS.
Never forget when Kyle Busch spotted this fan wearing his hat while driving next to her in traffic 🥹
This is one of the most wholesome interactions you'll ever see.
This Wilford Brimley “America Made the Indy 500” piece from the 2013 Indy 500 has always stuck with me. It’s just soooooo spectacularly well written. Give it a watch if you’ve never seen it or if it’s been awhile.

MAGA built a gallows, beat police officers, and threatened to hang the vice president because they lost an election — but somehow it’s Democrats who need to “tone it down.” The audacity is unreal.

This is where “uppercase” and “lowercase” came from. In the early days of printing, capital letters were kept in the upper compartments of the type case, while the smaller letters were placed below for easier access.
Jimmy Page & Robert Plant absolutely CRUSHING “When The Levee Breaks” live in 1995 — with Nigel Eaton’s hypnotic hurdy-gurdy 🔥
That swampy blues riff meets the ancient, droning folk sound of the hurdy-gurdy is pure magic. Raw power, Plant’s howl, Page’s guitar mastery… Zeppelin energy at its finest!
