Happy birthday to the Captain of Manchester United, @B_Fernandes8. He is not just the best signing since Sir Alex retired, he is the best human being & the best thing to happen to the club in that time.
Since signing in January 2020, he has played 24,975 in 294 appearances. In that time, he's missed 2 games through injury, 1 through illness. 99 goals, 86 assists, 135 minutes per goal contribution.
Where would we be without him? An extraordinary level of consistency, professionalism, leadership, he may not be universally liked because of who he plays for but he should be universally respected.
He goes to war for the club & the fans, giving every single thing he has. His letter before the FA Cup Final said everything, but maybe it was his interaction with an MUTV reporter that says it best.
“You are always available for this team. You always give everything that you can physically. It is appreciated by the fans all the way around the stadium. I hope you know how much you are loved by the fans.”
My Captain.
Bruno Fernandes is the best signing this club has made post Sir Alex by a mile.
It's not just the player but the professional & the human being. He brought dignity,he brought humanity, he brought values that this club had,but forgot.
Until the last day for you Ole's general ❤️
I have no idea where anyone has confidence or evidence to say Man Utd will recruit with £100m (or whatever they may get) players who can provide more than Bruno Fernandes.
Also.... People want to go on about his age. Scholes played until he was 38. Giggs until he was 40. I think Bruno could easily go until that age. He's a freak of nature. He'd also likely move into a the role those 2 had of not playing every game to keep him fresh
Bruno stayed through our darkest days. He sacrificed his prime, turned down better offers, and never hid.
He’s led with pride when others crumbled. Selling him would be a disgrace. This isn’t on him, it’s on INEOS and the Glazers.
The fact it’s even a debate is shameful.
I genuinely cannot fathom selling Bruno. He's been our only shining light, the guys a masterclass and the leader. He's irreplaceable to us right now.
I will find it much harder to be excited about this team without him.
if the club sells Bruno I genuinely will find it hard to find reasons to be happy following this club ... our brightest spark, our best player, leader ... he deserves so much better
So Manchester United football then?
No pretending to be some lesser club
The football Fergie deployed that a lot of these kids and glory hunters never witnessed hence they didn’t understand the “style of play”
Fast, Direct, Unpredictable football - straight from SAF’s playbook
