When I was a kid, my mom made me weed the garden. Once I left home, I vowed never to garden for the rest of my days.
Fast forward to this year and I find myself pulling weeds and planting things - and enjoying it!

@RichardERock1 Odd, I would have thought dancing on a grave is a celebration of the person. I’ve told my kids that when I die, they better show up from time to time to have an ice cream party. Bring big sundaes, great music, and laugh and dance.
@tootiehead I forget where I heard this, but someone said that upon completing the first draft, they burned it. And rewrote from the ground up. The idea being, only the best parts of the original are worth remembering, so as you draft the new version, your best ideas will shine through.

@ella_vanholland After connecting with half-sibs (with whom I have little in common) I realize that “family” is about heart and soul, rather than flesh and blood.
I wish you all the best with your journey. It’s deeply personal, each of us creating our own story!
@ella_vanholland I contacted my birth mom because I felt she’d want to know I had a good life. I got a reply from her sister saying she never wanted me to find her. My birth dad died before I learned who he was. He never knew about me. I’m not sure he’d have cared. Be prepared for anything.
