✝️🇭🇺 The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kalocsa-Kecskemét in Hungary has taken action against three of its priests. Two were involved in serious sexual abuse of minors. The third, Father Gergő Bese (pictured), a right-wing priest who consecrated Viktor Orbán's office, allegedly participated in gay sex orgies, maintained a long-term gay relationship, and appeared in online gay porn.

His sexual activities were consensual but not entirely in line with what he was preaching – he was known for his rabidly anti-LGBTQ views as well as receiving tons of government funding to promote "family values". Bese participated at @CPAC and @alapjogokert's #CPACHungary ultra-conservative far-right summit in Budapest earlier this year. He also heavily criticized the Paris Olympic Games' opening ceremony and amplified pro-Orbán propaganda, including by attacking opposition leaders.

Today, father Bese's photo suddenly disappeared from @PM_ViktorOrban's Facebook page.

The two other priests from the same Archdiocese are Gábor R. and father Róbert. Gábor R. is arrested and charged with 8 years in prison while father Róbert is currently investigated by the National Bureau of Investigation. Their cases are criminal and absolutely different from the pro-Orbán father Bese's gay sex scandal. Interestingly, however, these cases all gained media attention today due to a Hungarian pro-government propaganda site which reported on all three in the same article. (Father Bese's conduct was first revealed by independent online magazine Válasz Online earlier today.)
