@ejbowlin @shipwreckedcrew No. I was responding to "Joe has nothing to do all day but he can't get on AF1 and go to North Carolina." I'm definitely talking about the symbolic visit aspect
@shipwreckedcrew His presence would still divert valuable resources from actually saving lives. As long as he's approving all emergency declarations and sending all aid he can, Id rather him stay on a beach.
@shipwreckedcrew Dunk on him if you want, but the people do not need him there right now. They need to be rescued, roads to be cleared, power to be restored, and drinkable water. Joe can't physically do those things himself
@shipwreckedcrew The Asheville airport is basically only receiving flights with aid. The roads are washed out and/or blocked by trees. Routes are impassable. Finally, local law enforcement is focused on search and rescue. A potus visit would take away valuable resources.
Sure, it's an easy comp: NC State's Cardiac Pack overcame everything to win the 1983 NCAA Tournament. The 2024 team's run to the Final Four seems equally astonishing. Yet, as @BFriedACC explains, there are some key differences, too: https://t.co/sU4WfaQKbU
Men ages 20 to 40 are the primary group diagnosed with #TesticularCancer. While highly treatable, early detection can affect outcomes. Hear Dr. Timothy Lyon, a @MayoClinic urologist and oncologist, explain what men should know about testicular cancer: https://t.co/runUlvoGga
@steve_vladeck I remember wondering about this removal statute in law school. Does the DA stick with the case or does the US Attorneys office take it over?
@RMFifthCircuit I confess that I think I messed this up once but ended up getting away with it. I recall finding a 5th cir case that said I had somehow preserved the issue even though we didn't reurge at trial
