This graph is quite stark. Looking at NHS staff ethnicity generally (data for England below) - there's more ethnic diversity in medical staff than in non-medical staff. There's an argument that public health should be broadly between the 2 - and it's not.

@HeldinEU @epistatcadarn @amcunningham @FPH You wouldn't be the first public health trainee in their 50s... The main question is when do you want to retire? The training is 5 years FTE.

There are options for longevity. Lots of people work in academic public health long after they officially retire clinically, for example.

Many of our trainees have had established careers elsewhere, or have retrained from other specialties post-CCT.
