Are you a healthcare professional who prescribes pain-relieving medicines for people living
with chronic musculoskeletal pain?

We would like to hear from you.

As healthcare services continue to align with national priorities to reduce over-reliance on
medicines and support people to self-manage long-term conditions, it is vital that we
understand the realities of prescribing and supporting patients with ongoing pain.

Chronic pain affects millions of people across the UK and is a major focus of health policy,
with increasing emphasis on person-centred care, shared decision-making, supported self-
management, and non-pharmacological approaches where appropriate.

We are conducting a study to explore the experiences and perspectives of healthcare
professionals who prescribe pain-relieving medicines for people experiencing ongoing pain
in muscles, bones, or joints.

✅ One online interview (up to 60 minutes)
✅ Open to prescribers across England

Your insights will help inform future approaches to supporting people living with chronic
pain and contribute to research aimed at improving care and self-management support.
