@AsafKlaf Hi, interesting study. Do you consider Cognitive Functional Therapy (CFT) as a cognitive intervention or do you think the functional movement component sufficient to differentiate. When considering the positive results, how do you think it is working?
@northwoods1980@northwoods1980 what do you mean by sore, training sore or real sore? I have tried to integrate IN into treatment protocols for chronic neck pain. I replaced the bungee cord with pulley system with 1kg wt. Still may be too heavy though. @AimeePeek thinks this is a terrible idea.
@northwoods1980 The classic papers are still plausible (Nachemson etc) but, as expected, not for every patient. Flexion for disc, extension for facet. Modern day, pelvic parameter research gives further support to these original thoughts but the field is too toxic for a rational discussion.
@giovanni_ef Is it unreasonable to ask why the study was even conducted 🤔? These are the easiest patients to "treat" (refer them to a competent hip surgeon) and the most thankful patients afterwards (they get their quality of life back).
@NickIlic_Physio Can I answer like this.. 😜. The fun and nice but incompetent provider is NOT nice if they are not, depending on the outcome, benefitting the patient.
On the way to Canberra to give a talk re. appropriate imaging in spine care. Notice drilled holes to demonstrate pelvic incidence. An important angle many therapists don't know about (or are too stubborn to learn) and may be important in spine care. #EOSimaging@northwoods1980
@NickHoopes_ Just saying... for the comments. Do you have an x-ray ? 🤔If you have the pelvic incidence, lumbar lordosis and pelvic tilt (radiographic) you can take some of the subjectivity of having to "convince" yourself. Or we can remain blind, with Kendall's classification from 1949😲
Does spinal posture matter? Really excited to be invited by @SOSORTintl to present on Sagittal Plane tomorrow night (Sydney time). Preparing the talk was fun... challenging .. but fun. https://t.co/rtA0gie1V6
Stooping over posture in the ageing population, in some people, is associated with increased back pain, increased risk of falls and increased transition to dependant care. The following video gives insight into some of the biomechanics associated with these postures.
@adamdobson123 Because a minor scoliosis curve in a young child with lots of remaining growth can become a moderate and then severe curve with growth. Rather educate clinicians on evidenced based clinical and ethical practice - not to overtreat and not to undertreat. #SOSORT
@southNJscoli Dr Rigo quote - "The best brace is the brace that the technician is most skilled at making". ie one that creates sufficient correction and tolerable enough for sufficient wear time. Importantly - Do you get in-brace x-rays? I argue negligence if not.. @JahangirAsgha10
There's a great deal of variation in advice given to people asking about optimal office chair sitting positions. One issue often seen is that some people don't adopt adequate resting positions. The attached video provides some information to consider. Looking forward to questions
Scoliosis awareness month aims to stress the importance for early detection of scoliosis.
The Adam's test is a common and easy screening method. A video for dance teachers is https://t.co/BkitSJXZbg
Suspected positive tests should be seen by a scoliosis health professional
