Today morning, I opened the induction programme for the Public Accounts Committees of Parliament at Imperial Golf View Hotel, Entebbe, as Members prepare to undertake one of Parliament's most important constitutional responsibilities: holding public institutions accountable for the use of public resources.
I told members of the committees that they are the eyes and ears of the Ugandan people in ensuring that every taxpayer's shilling is used efficiently, transparently and for the benefit of the nation. Through objective scrutiny of the Auditor General's reports and constructive engagement with Accounting Officers, they have a unique opportunity to strengthen public financial management and improve service delivery.
I encouraged the Members to approach this assignment with integrity and professionalism. Over the next five years, the credibility of Parliament's oversight function will largely depend on their work because they represent not only @Parliament_Ug but also the people of Uganda.
I also pledged on behalf of the leadership of the institution that we shall equally be accountable. We cannot demand accountability from the rest when we ourselves are not. It must start with us.
I therefore urged them to execute this mandate with the utmost seriousness without fear or favor if we are to support government’s ten fold growth strategy.
ON AIR: Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa requested all registered Ugandans to gladly participate in the coming LC1 elections, argued all Ugandans to fight against poverty, appreciated vigilance against Ebola virus, called upon local council leaders to be at watch.
Tune now 94.0 Tayarifm.

Enough is enough. Uganda. We need to build our own robust healthcare system or we will keep spending money overseas and growing other economies. And also keep dying of things that don’t kill people in other places. God bless @KarisMedical to change lives here, not overseas.
Every last Saturday of the month will be a National Cleaning Day, with the inaugural exercise scheduled for tomorrow in Kisenyi, Kampala, the Government has announced.
According to the Government, the nationwide exercise will run from 7:00am to 10:00am, during which public movement and vehicular traffic will be prohibited except for emergency services and other essential categories exempted by government. #OpenGovUg

3 common mistakes parents do when handling Newborns: 🧵🪀🪀
1️⃣ Allowing too many visitors too soon
Newborns have very delicate immune systems. Too many visitors can increase the risk of infections. It becomes worse with unrestricted handling from person to person.
Inside the RISE Infrastructure Mission
Economic transformation depends on the systems that quietly enable everything else to function. Efficient logistics, reliable energy networks, well-planned industrial zones, and connected markets determine how quickly businesses can scale and how widely opportunity can spread.
When infrastructure is designed as an integrated system rather than isolated projects, it becomes a catalyst for productivity, investment, and long-term competitiveness.
