Reading a lefty, from Eduardo Pérez — passed down from Lou Brock:
Key on his left foot, the one on the rubber.
Toes lift at the start? He's coming to first.
Toes stay down? He's going home.
Eduardo's advice? One foot tells you everything.⚾
Why do we lift on gameday?
Post Action Potentiation. The idea of doing an explosive movement to “prime” the Central Nervous System to perform optimally before the main event. Research support shows effects can last up to several hours after the explosive training.
🚨 Practice: I/O 4 Number Game
• Coach calls out a combination of numbers 1-4.
• Fielders have to throw to each base in the sequence as fast as they can.
⭐️ Throws from the outfield should be firm & on a line. “One hop or no hop.”
