Tonight I really realized just how much Kenya has changed in a positive way:
So, we were called at night at around 8:40PM about a fire at my sister's restaurant off Kikuyu Road #Kurtlizfries and it was an actual fire, sio mchezo. I quickly called 911 and some very polite guy
emergency by inspecting the damage and ensuring our safety. Am surely grateful that no one was hurt and that the damage was not extensive. Thank God for the army of helpers that came out of their houses at curfew time to help, the cops that ensured security and the fire fighters
Don't forget that its less than 3.5 km from my place and yet cops were already there and the fire fighters arrived (from CBD) shortly after my hurried arrival.
The fire was already put out by the good souls that arrived first but none the less, the cops confirmed that it was
I also got calls from the police from Riruta Police Station who were already at the site. On getting there, some good souls had already broken the main gate to the premises and fought the fire. They had also calmed down my sister and the cops were also at the site for security.
