Thanks Ben! Yes, I'm on the Codex harness now. Since I'm a "normie" I"m using "Codex the Mac App" to update and maintain, and recently one of the updates seemed to wire in the codex harness. Previously, Codex the App, had set up an "aliasing" system where I could switch between the two using a / command, but that somehow went away in one of the more recent updates. I have no complaints in how it's doing it's job, solid, but maybe a little "personality-less" in the codex harness. That's why I was wondering if I should try to wire back the Pi harness.
Cool, thanks for your reply! Yeah, that's what I've been on. I can't remember which update put me on Codex harness, but before that, Codex the Mac App (Since I'm a normie) had created an aliasing where I could switch between the two using a / command, but after one of the updates I couldn't do that anymore, and while it's been solid, I thought maybe I'd lost some personality.
@romainhuet If I am running OC with GPT-5.5 in OAth OpenAI pro sub, do you have an opinion whether I should run it with the codex or pi harness? Thanks!
@thsottiaux If I'm running OC with GPT 5.5 with OAth, do you know, or have an opinion whether I should run it with the Pi harness or the Codex harness? I have a Pro sub, and also have Codex the App. As a "normie" there's no way I could maintain OC without it. Thanks!
@davemorin Huge improvement and solid, but I'm not feeling that same magic I felt the week I used it with Opus. One of the updates got me wired into the Codex harness. You think it makes a difference? Should I put it back on the PI?
@openclaw Q: In current OpenClaw, for a ChatGPT/Codex subscription-auth user, is the recommended setup openai/gpt-5.5 with https://t.co/AS0OTAhH6g = "codex" rather than the older openai-codex/* / Provider Interface route? Are there practical tradeoffs besides runtime behavior? Thanks!
@colinsolvely Thanks for the report! I also am running my Claw on OpenAI OAth and was curious: Are you running GPT-5.5 through the Codex harness/runtime, or through OpenClawβs standard/PI runtime/harness? Thanks!
I hit a similar gateway issue on macOS after updating to 2026.4.26. Gateway stayed around ~90-103% CPU and health checks timed out. Bonjour was disabled, no active openclaw-ops/watchdog, and it reproduced even after stripping back to minimal acpx-only. Rolling back to 2026.4.24 restored health.
