The thing is Diana was a sympathetic and empathetic figure at so many phases of her short adult life with Charles.
This one exudes hypocrisy and greed. M could never mimic Diana’s inherently honest caring about children and the disadvantaged. H is unfortunately too much in her thrall at this point to get out from under her control. Plus he’s stupidly burned all the bridges down.
