@brac1327@OmniFinn The initial post was a comparison that you interpreted that way, others could have interpreted it as “europeans are so lazy” or something else.
But Niko quoted it and I replied - starting a separate particular thread, as a discussion about global business practices
@brac1327@OmniFinn Aidan, you’re the only American in this thread and you’re the one who replied, thereby injecting yourself into this conversation about *global* business practices.
You can disagree with Niko, but at least scroll up to remind yourself what you’re discussing, or don’t engage.
@itssanman Hmm, is it a violation of PR if it’s voluntary and informed?
I simply wouldn’t buy that car.
A voluntary relinquishment of PR surely doesn’t violate PR? They’re the individual’s to do with as they please, even when we might think those choices stupid
@calibrated_lies@glowieboiz@dannycantalk@fernevak I don’t think people should be ruled if they don’t want to be. I’m happy to allow people to live in democracies pr any other system if they choose to, just don’t coerce people to do so. The returns to violence have diminished enough, that many people could live as self-sovereigns
@ItsAndyRyan@pmberry2007 Thanks for the clarification. Mostly only heard it referred to it as “The Ukraine” and I thought it was translation quirk or something, but accepted it because of “The Gambia”.
Next you’ll tell me that’s for a similar reason but they still use it
@calibrated_lies@dannycantalk@fernevak Unfortunately you’re correct on the first part.
But arguing for the morally correct position is still a worthwhile endeavour, even when it is unlikely to come to pass any time soon.
Pointing out that collectivists that claim they are not collectivists is still worthwhile.
@SatoshEh@gladstein@ContrarianCurse WRT the rest. I know others in that situation, but I’m still relatively young and happy to keep riding through the pain, but my thesis remains unchanged because my reasons for using Bitcoin have not changed, but I understand the weariness
@SatoshEh@gladstein@ContrarianCurse My point remains unchanged? Proportionally, it still seems more likely to me that 3rd worlders (like myself) are more likely to use bitcoin for goods and services than the west is, though I guess if you include Block’s terminals in the US I could be mistaken.
