For Afrikaners, May 31 is also โBittereinderdagโ. (Bitter Ender Day)
It commemorates the Bittereinders during the final phase of the Second Boer War of Independence (1899โ1902) who refused to surrender and fought to the โbitter endโ for their independence, even when military victory seemed impossible.
Today we remember their perseverance until the end of the war with the signing of the Peace of Vereeniging (May 31, 1902). We also remember later Afrikaner milestones such as the Republic Day on May 31, 1961. May the bravery of the Bittereinders live on in our descendants.
Ref says Leinster player jumped to catch the ball and therefore the Lions player was wrong for being under him. What hogwash. He had his hands on the ball before he jumped and then tried to hurdle the defender. That Steyn got penalised here is an absolute joke.

@Paratus2014 We have nearly 3 million firearms and roughly 500 million rounds of ammunition in the hands of legal firearm owners.
If we were the problem, you'd know.
@NickHudsonCT It's free for everyone to voice their opinion, yes. But maybe fact is more important than opinion.
No one listens to facts that challenge convictions they refuse to reconsider.
Farm murders in South Africa are not organic. Under the glare of international attention, they fell to a 36-yr low. Nobody believes that disgruntled farmworkers or common thieves care about international attention. So who does?
Had a chat about gun control with Jeremy Vearey on RSG this AM, and he made some really good points.
Firstly, that the CFR needs to be taken away from SAPS - the police are too corrupt to manage it.
Second, that provinces should be able to choose their gun control legislation.
