@IzzyGuzz @PellettsUK I have had success using a tiny vibrator wrapped in a sock to dull the vibrations, run it down the tummy in a circular motion.

Logan has a little more pep in his step today and is eating and drinking on his own now. I’m still giving some critical care to help him out some weight back on. He went from 1370g to 1290. The vet said he’s still plenty chunky though.

Has anyone else had pigs that have a hard time recovering from having blood drawn? About 20 hours later and Logan still isn’t willing to eat much or get up to drink. He’s getting critical care. The vet did say that he would be low for a day or two but this is still shocking.

@SunPiggy Oh goodness, I guess it is hard on them then. What did they stay over night for? Surgery? I had a stone piggy and he didn’t stay over night but I was instructed to syringe feed him every couple hours.

@SunPiggy Did they stop eating? The vet said it would be extra hard on him with his heart condition though so maybe it’s just that. (We didn’t know about the heart when we drew the blood obviously)

@squeakyboar That’s the plan. I left a message for the vet though he did tell me 48 hours), and our other pig is proudly flaunting his food in front of him. He’ll eat a couple bites and then plop down into pancake position. He just has no energy. I put water in a shallow dish for him too.

@AlexandriaVict5 Thank you! It seems like we’re getting pretty early intervention. Vet says his blood pressure is good and his heartbeat sounds good.

Today we learned the sad news that our sweetest buddy Logan is suffering from an enlarged heart. He’s 3 and so far his symptoms are getting tired easily, and an occasional hooing sound. Dr says best course is peaceful living and lots of love. Any experience with ❤️pigs? Advice?

@AlexandriaVict5 I have read that as well. The vet suggested we start with just a taurine supplement at this time.
