A surprisingly good debate but the elephant in the room is the financial position of @airindiain Tata’s are taking loans hands over fist just to finance #TataAirIndia they are trying to reduce the wage bill by forcing people over 50 to opt for VRS curtailing salaries of high pay employees and ending up scoring self goals : if say 60% of pilot workforce do not sign then if the TATA’s stick to their stand they are F..’ed: All airlines love to hate pilots and cannot live with them but more importantly CANNOT Survive without them: If this IMPASS continues then it’s best that air India stop all aircraft leases and scrub plans to buy airplanes : Today they are damned if they do and damned if the don’t: There’s a global shortage of pilots if Tata’s layoff 60% of their pilot work force there are air carriers in ME & SE asia waiting in the wings to snap them up at 3 times their present salaries: It’s time to change their strategy or just get out of the airline business: This due to being out of the Airline business isince the 70s: They are majority share holder in @airvistara but the minority holder @SingaporeAir is actually excising operational control not the Tatas : once they took over AirAsia they screwed it up:
