3 YouTube Trends to watch in 2024

1. Videos will continue to get longer

With viewership increasing on connected TV's, longer YouTube content is seeing serious success. Podcasts are pushing into the 1-2 hour range and we're seeing top creators push into the 25-30 min range on videos. Higher AVDs, deeper audience connections.

2. Short-form, repeatable formats will win across platforms.
We've talked about it before... it's the first time in the history of the creator economy where one asset can be posted natively across multiple platforms. The one-off viral short is no longer all that interesting, but we're seeing repeatable formats / shows come to life across platforms. When one episode goes viral, there's a whole library of content that someone can binge. Check out Trackstar from our friends at Public Opinion - a new music trivia show that is finding success on TikTok, YT Shorts and IG Reels.

3. Appointment viewing will make a return

With such a high quantity of content being published on a daily basis, creators will start to make "events" with dates & times. This isn't limited to live streamed events, this could be a daily vlog like Airrack is doing this December, or even creating trailers and posters for episodes like the Sidemen do for Sidemen Sunday.
