Each year, the Volusia County Council PTA (@vccpta) selects outstanding student art in dance choreography, literature, music composition, film production, and visual art to compete at the state level. We are thrilled to honor our three state-level Reflections winners tonight:

Today, we are thrilled to recognize 27 Volusia County schools for their outstanding academic improvement in the 2023-24 School Grade Report released by the Florida Department of Education! These schools have either increased their letter grade from a "C" to a "B" or have earned an "A" for the school year. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication to excellence. Join us in celebrating these achievements as we present their banners and plaques!

Good afternoon, VCS families,
We hope that this message finds you and your loved ones safe and secure after Hurricane Idalia made landfall in Florida this morning. While Volusia County was spared much of the impact, our thoughts go out to those who experienced and continue to experience greater effects and damage from the storm.

At this time, all schools have been inspected and cleared with no damage. Volusia County Schools is ready to reopen tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 31. Families and employees, please return to your usual school schedules starting in the morning.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this time. We plan to share more information on instructional make-up time in the near future. We look forward to seeing you back at school tomorrow.
