Am deeply humbled to have the privilege of presenting and showcasing my presentation about Artificial intelligence and how it will revolutionize Africa through tech solutions in major sectors of the economy. Thank you @pintofscienceKE@Zone01Kisumu for this great opportunity.
Allan Githaiga talks about how AI offers solutions across African sectors. In agriculture, it optimizes crop management, predicts weather patterns, and enhances yields. In energy, AI streamlines grid management, boosts renewable integration, and enhances efficiency.
Ideal for fishermen and traders, it reduces reliance on ice and electricity by enhancing sustainability and boosting income. Stella's presentation highlighted the cooler box's design, efficiency, and impact on local fishing communities.
At #pint24, Stella Oiro presented her innovation: a solar-powered cooler box for fish;RejSola. Designed to maintain freshness in extreme conditions, this eco-friendly device harnesses solar energy to provide consistent cooling.
Integrating these scientific and technological equipment, Shamba Share aims to effectively enhance productivity and sustainability of small holder farms, helping to boost agricultural output and improve livelihoods.
Samwel Marshall's presentation on Shamba Share.
A platform for small holder access to merchandised farm equipment involving a combination of agricultural engineering, data analytics, supply chain management, and digital technology.
Dr. John Waitumbi in his presentation "Whole Genome Sequencing in Disease Surveillance" speaks about how #WGS helps scientists explore different variations/mutations that aid genetic research and understanding #Pint2024
It's good to know that you don't yet know, amazing researches and how they're applied to benefit our communities. Glad to share a pint of beer over Science talks. Thanks @Zone01Kisumu for this exposure. #PintofScienceKE
Thrilled to be part of #PintOfScience! As an apprentice software engineer at @Zone01Kisumu, I'm eager to uncover the intersection of technology and science. Let's toast to innovation and the endless possibilities ahead! ๐ป๐ฌ #TechInScience
Science Communication is sharing and raising awareness on science related topics in different ways including debates, art and speaking.
As we gear up for #pint21 online this May 17-19, share ways in which you feel science communication is useful to you in the comment section.
Why science communication?
Three key ideas emerge: community knowledge is a powerful context; successful science communication is integrated with other beliefs; and there is an expectation that researchers will contribute to the development of society.
