@milliemagpie92 It’s funny, because damage was extensive here but if I remember correctly less extensive 20 or 30 miles to the north. I’m guessing Portsmouth would have been quite badly affected, being on the coast.

The Great Storm hit the UK overnight tonight (15–16 October) in 1987 - it’s hard to believe that it happened 38 years ago!

The tree is slightly left of centre in the far distance, but half hidden by some other foliage, which is possibly why we’d not noticed it before when walking Pip.

Today, we mark 100 years of Winnie-the-Pooh. “And by and by they came to an enchanted place on the top of the forest called Galleons Lap.”

Here, Christopher Robin and Pooh said their final goodbye to each other. This beautiful spot was on one of Pip’s favourite walks.
