The NEET paper leak was a serious failure of the examination system. Students who had worked hard for years had every right to feel angry and demand accountability. The protest began with a genuine concern for fairness and transparency.

🏛️ CHAPTER 2: GOVERNMENT RESPONSE
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The government arrested the accused, conducted a re-NEET, declared fresh results, announced stricter anti-paper leak laws, initiated reforms within the NTA, and proposed fast-track courts. These were important corrective measures.

⚠️ CHAPTER 3: WHERE THE GOVERNMENT WENT WRONG
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The biggest mistake, in my view, was the delayed response. Early communication and dialogue with students were missing. The police action during protests further escalated the situation and generated wider public sympathy for the movement.

🔄 CHAPTER 4: THE PROTEST CHANGED
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

What started as a student-led movement gradually became much larger. Alongside genuine students came political workers, ideological groups, social media creators, and people with long-standing political opposition to the Modi government. Like most large movements, different people joined with different motivations.

📱 CHAPTER 5: SOCIAL MEDIA & TOXIC NARRATIVES
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

While many protesters continued peacefully, social media also witnessed abusive and vulgar language directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP. For some, the issue shifted from NEET reforms to attacking the government, often overshadowing the original concerns of students.

🙏 CHAPTER 6: SONAM WANGCHUK'S FAST
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Sonam Wangchuk ended his 26-day fast after discussions with a Union Cabinet Minister. Personally, I believe that if the fast had continued, the political pressure on the government would have increased significantly. Ending it reduced one major source of pressure, although people may interpret this differently.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🗳️ CHAPTER 7: THE POLITICAL DIMENSION
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Every major public movement eventually attracts politics. Opposition parties naturally saw an opportunity to challenge the government, while some protest leaders continued to focus primarily on the Education Minister's resignation despite multiple corrective measures already announced. To me, the movement now appears to have both a reform agenda and a political agenda.

🎯 CONCLUSION

The NEET protests have become one of the biggest public challenges faced by the current government since the farmer's protests.

In my view, the movement highlighted both genuine student concerns and the growing role of politics, ideology, and social media in shaping public discourse.

If there is one lesson from this episode, it is that governments must respond faster, communicate better, and engage with people before frustration grows into a national movement.

That is the beauty of democracy, citizens have the right to question, governments have the responsibility to listen, and every major challenge is an opportunity to improve.
