We are undergoing a transformation. For the time being Twitter is no longer the right shaped piece for our new purpose so this account will not be updated for the foreseeable future. Thanks to those who engaged with our tweets and we welcome you on our other channels @PiTDesignUK
Our second Q in the LGBT+ acronym is for Questioning. There are many reasons why the LGBT+ community may encounter self-generated questions regarding their sexuality or gender identity. What matters is not the asking of questions but the finding our true selves as a result #pride
We return to the LGBT+ acronym today with the letter Q for Queer. For a long time queer was used negatively towards members of the LGBT community but has now been reclaimed, with pride. We love the empowerment this demonstrates we all have over our own identity and meaning.
Monday is here again and we’re pressing pause on our LGBT+ acronym review today in order to promote our charity partner, @andysmanclubuk. They run confidential, non-judgmental, peer-to-peer support groups for men every Monday from 7pm #itsokaytotalk
Another Yorkshire Pride event today @PrideBarnsley. Hope all who went had fun 🌈 Our continued exploration of the LGBT+ acronym has reached T for Transexual. Not always included as a letter, it traditionally refers to those who seek to permanently transition their gender.
Happy @RotherhamPride to our Yorkshire LGBT+ers and friends. Today’s LGBT+ acronym letter is T for Transgender - an individual whose internal sense of personal identity and gender is different to their birth sex. The transgender flag is 20 years old this year #equality#identity
Our 3rd LGBT+ acronym 'label' letter - B for Bisexual. Men and women who love... men AND women. The bisexuality flag has been in existence since 1998, each band representing the different attractions represented in bisexuality #pride#equality#identity#magcessory#meaning
Our second ‘label’ from the LGBT+ acronym brought to you with a little fun - G for Gay - basically for individuals attracted to someone of the same sex*, usually in relation to men #equality#diversity#pride🌈 #findyourpiece#createyourmeaning *other definitions are available 🧐
Love or hate them, labels help many people self-identify. As part of our pride 🏳️🌈 celebrations, today we bring you the meaning of the first letter of the LGBT+ acronym - L for Lesbian - ladies who love... each other 👩❤️💋👩 #equality#diversity#findyourpiece#createyourmeaning
Since the original ‘gay pride’ movement the acronym it birthed has added many pieces. As an expression of diversity and identity, there are those for whom each letter carries real meaning. Join us over the coming days as we delve more into each letter #lgbt#identity#rainbowflag
For members of the LGBT community the chance of experiencing mental ill health is greater than the already high rates in the heterosexual population. @andysmanclubuk runs confidential, non-judgmental, peer-to-peer support groups for all men every Monday from 7pm #itsokaytotalk👌🏻
“The secret of genius is to carry the spirit of the child into old age, which means never losing your enthusiasm” - Aldous Huxley. One of our favourite quotes that ties in with the meaning of the last piece of the rainbow flag 🏳️🌈 Purple for spirit #lgbtq#pride#magcessory
A piece close to our heart, today’s rainbow flag meaning is blue for harmony. Very apt on @DalaiLama‘s birthday and as the lgbtq+ community celebrate in the capital 🇬🇧 - Happy London Pride 🌈 🎉 We’ll be @ArtsmixLeeds from 10am 🐑 See you there! #magcessory#fashionaccessory
Our next piece of the rainbow flag 🏳️🌈 is green for nature, something we care about very much. This month is also #PlasticFreeJuly so for anyone off to enjoy pride events 🎉 please think twice before supporting the waste from single use plastics ♥️🌍#sustainability 🐑 #magcessory
