And at #1 on my list of Top Plays of 2024, the Rutgers Reversal. Greg Schiano calls timeout to ice our kicker, the test kick comes up short, so we send the offense back out for 4th & 13 with 14 seconds left and this happens.
Merry Christmas, Illini fans. See you in Orlando.
What makes good teams GREAT?
Team Anchors. ⚓️
Here’s what sets “Team Anchors” apart:
1. Selfless: They put the team above themselves.
2. Consistent: You always know what you’re getting.
3. Communicators: Keep everyone connected.
4. Hard Workers: Set the tone with effort.
5. Adaptable: Fill any role the team needs to win.
6. Positive: Bring energy, not drama.
Who are the “Team Anchors” on your team?
John Wooden said, "A player who makes a team great is better than a great player."
Great teammates are selfless.
• They prioritize the TEAM.
• They choose to embrace their roles.
• They choose to make the team better.
#illini Brad Underwood on Tre White: "I just hadn't done a very good job of coaching him and putting him in the right spots. To his credit, unbelievable teammate and his defense hasn't wavered. Tonight, he stepped up and met the challenge."

The committee was lucky the 12-team CFP was already coming when it left out FSU.
If you boot No. 8 SMU from the field for losing on a 56-yard walk-off FG in an extra game and put in a 3-loss team, it's going to create an existential crisis in the sport.
Sean McDonough strongly stumps for SMU to be included in the 12-team College Football Playoff:
"If you watched that game and don't think that, that SMU team deserves to be in the College Football Playoff, then I would respectfully, strongly disagree with you."
Clemson is in. SMU should be in. A 3-loss Alabama team with two losses to 6-6 teams should not be in. That's my take.
Will the committee agree? I don't know.
