This tweet goes out to all my contacts who have the misfortune of updating PHP, Gitlab, and blacklisting some CA stuff.
This also goes out to the ones who wont update any of it because they either cant or dont care.
And it's only Wednesday.
@GamersNexus Buying old workstation or server hardware isn't that uncommon either, a used Xeon/EPYC there, some workstation or server GPUs somewhere in-between, but I dont see how anyone but a datacenter can make use of decommissioned GB300 realistically. There's a functional limit here.
@GamersNexus HARDWARE:
What's the plan when datacenters replace old hardware with newer hardware?
It's become so specialized to deploy and demanding in power that second hand ownership is too impractical for us normal people, so will other datacenters buy it second hand or is it e-wasted?
Seeing the reviews of performance on the RTX Spark laptops and almost none of them are showing native res, no dlss, no rt, no framegen.
Absolutely totally useless performance metrics everywhere. "100 fps when using 3x framegen and dlss" is functionally ueseless.
Just say it sucks
@GamersNexus Oh neat you finally got to see one. I offered to mail one your way some time back but it got passed on back then. It's a neat card.
I can answer the airflow thing though, the heatsinks are asymmetrical, the one by the mDP port is less dense. It's a genuinely weird cooler setup.
@Wunkolo I don't think so, at least not in any production deployment capacity. They might keep a few around internally if they pop up just so they can know it's still possible but I haven't seen anything recent.
@Borman18@Vandiril Actually let me give a metric I got told
According to one Riot employee I have approximately 1% of everything they've ever put on their CDN
@Wunkolo The other part that was odd is that unlike most cheat devices, it had an on/off switch so you could also disable it as needed, which led to a ton of interesting results when you wanted to mess around even more.
@Wunkolo The one that got me into unusual hardware or software interactions was also the action replay, but specifically the max duo, which played NDS games through the GBA port. It makes sense now but that was some true black magic to me back then.
