Having now watched this a few times....wouldn't a magnetic dock for an iPad with "HomePlay" mode (like CarPlay) be a better solution?

Make the base a killer speaker, throw a tremendous battery in there so it's mobile around the house, etc.

Now my iPad is a media consumption device on the go, and a HomeView" when I want it docked. All with Apple-level design and engineering.

That I'd buy.
