@dolphinmaria @ghost_motley @guardiannews My family had to insert a suction device down my mums throat every 15 minutes of the day to clear saliva so she did not ingest it into her lungs and choke to death or get pneumonia. This in turn made her gag so much that she would turn red and cry with discomfort.

If the person with a degenerative disease has capacity to make a decision, is not going to get better and has no quality of life then it’s their decision. Not yours, not mine, not any one else. Only them. Who are you to tell them otherwise?

@dolphinmaria @ghost_motley @guardiannews If there was a public vote, I’m certain voluntary euthanasia would get a higher vote. Not so for capital punishment, that has too much scope for abuse. Where as voluntary euthanasia can be managed. That’s my point.
