Dozens of glass bottles, tin cans, sweet wrappers, an old bean bag & an early Victorian coin!

Can we say a huge arigatoo to Noriko Art for her fabulous sessions at our Youth Club. The children have loved learning about Japanese food, cities, culture and the language linked to this. They have also developed some amazing skills in origami! ❤️🇯🇵

We have loved working with the amazing children & staff Crookhill Primary School on a heritage project in memory of the 200th anniversary of the 1826 Stargate Pit disaster. Looking forward to sharing the project film, paintings, art & poetry at the community event later this year

Our Volunteer Adult Gardening Club starts this Thursday at Benfieldside Community Garden. 💚

We welcome those with an interest in gardening, and/or a new way to socialise and make some new friends.

We had a wonderful time yesterday at our Toddlers Garden Group and our After School Kids Garden Club.

-The toddlers planted some flower seeds using traditional techniques🌸

-The After School children managed gardening jobs, we also celebrated a very Happy Birthday to Tommy🎂

We had a brilliant morning at Crookhill making a start on their local history project. Today we learned about the history of mining in the north east, what it was like for workers (including children) who were down the mines & the tragic events of Stargate’s pit disaster in 1826.
