Not one word on Pakistan dismantling India centric military terror complex & taking visible, credible & irreversible action against India centric terror, prosecution & punishment of Hafiz Saeed, Masood Azhar, Dawood Ibrahim & ISI handlers.
Former FS @KanwalSibal argues that there has been a threadbare analysis in Indian strategic circles as to why Pakistan can’t make peace with India; the Indian commentariat should cease clutching at straws and wishful thinking (maybe this man would be different..)(2016):
A fellow OSINT researcher from Pakistan, with good access to the country’s security establishment, tells me there is growing frustration within the Pakistani military and the hybrid regime over the continued abeyance of the Indus Waters Treaty.
According to her, the increasing frustration stems from an apparent deadlock in the reported dialogue on the Treaty. Pakistan is said to be pushing for a breakthrough. The Indian side is understood to have maintained a firm position, leaving little room for progress.
While the Pakistani side continues to maintain that the dialogue is ongoing, labelling it as ‘Track 1.5’ because the visiting delegations from Pakistan reportedly involve serving military officers and political figures, India’s Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri, has stated that the Government of India has neither authorised nor participated in any such process. According to Misri, if any Indian individuals are engaged in such discussions, they are doing so in their personal capacities and without any mandate from the Government of India.
If history is any guide, periods of heightened frustration within Pakistan’s security establishment have often been followed by increased jihadist activity against India. It would therefore be prudent to watch developments closely over the coming weeks.
THE STAR CAST OF 61 INDIAN "CIVIL" SOCIETY THAT HAVE WRITTEN TO MODI-SHARIF DEMANDING AN END TO "OP SINDOOR".
None of these people have any qualms about sharing space with separatists who don't recognise the Indian Constitution or giving Pak a breather. None have written a letter calling upon Pak to "end continued hostilities" against PoK Kashmiris, Indian innocents. None.
This man has become very aggressive in his comments.
Gets invited by Indian TV channels.
What has India’s decision on IWT got to do with China?
Do Pakistan and China have a water treaty which includes China’s retaliation against India in case there are India- Pak differences on IWT?
China has been devious in claiming they were not building dams on the Brahmaputra until their lies were exposed through satellite imagery.
Now they are building a gargantuan dam on the Brahmaputra bend without sharing any information on the project and its impact on lower riparians , apart from the grave damage it can do the fragile ecology of Tibet.
China does not recognise India’s rights as a lower riparian.
The Chinese government does not dissociate itself from Gao’s statements, quite conveniently.
A CLOSER LOOK AT WHAT THE 60 INDIAN "PAK APOLOGISTS" ARE REALLY DEMANDING AND WHY IT IS DEEPLY PROBLEMATIC.
THE letter written by 60 odd Indians to PM Modi and PM Sharif is mostly studded with dull as dish water homilies trundled out with monotonous regularity by the pinko leftist cabal that has made a living out of peace summiteering. Even so, there's one clause that is problematic. Here the petitioners ask to resume discussions on J&K with a view to revisiting the negotiated India–Pak framework between 2004 and 2007.
Now, this was a backchannel framework on J&K that was developed during the peace process between then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and then Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf. And thankfully it was never formally signed because this is what it outlined:
1. No redrawing of borders. The Line of Control will be the border.
Which would have meant surrendering PoK.
2. Self-governance for J&K. This would have cemented J&K's Special Status within the Indian Union for perpetuity.
3. Representatives from both sides of Kashmir, would create a joint consultative mechanism. This would give Pak stakeholder status in J&K for perpetuity.
Am I the only one who recalls that during Op Sindoor, the then-DGMO, LG Rajeev Ghai, at an official press briefing had paid tribute to the 5 personnel who made the supreme sacrifice during the Operation. Also recall, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, having personally visited Sergeant Kumar’s family to pay his respects. And now National War Memorial has their names etched in stone as a tribute for their ultimate sacrifice. Where’s the confusion?
#WATCH | Delhi: On letter of over 100 prominent citizens from India & Pakistan to both PMs for 'restoring peace, normalcy, dialogue', Congress MP Manish Tewari says, "It's extremely unfortunate that some people have forgotten the Baisaran massacre. It has been only 1 year 2 months and 8 days since innocent tourists where mercilessly butchered in front of their families in the name of their faith. Pakistan's perfidy, its export of terror against India, its desire for retribution to bleed India with a thousand cuts now goes back almost 5 decades when we dismembered Pakistan and created a new country called Bangladesh. So, over these 5 decades every effort that India made to reach out to Pakistan had been followed by a terror attack sponsored by Pakistan. I am really surprised as to how these very eminent people can forget this history. What do you want to talk to Pakistan about? What is it that India wants from Pakistan? The only thing India wants from Pakistan is that there should be no export of terror. So, under those circumstances this misty-eyed romanticism about wanting to normalise relaationships with a country which has been hell-bent upon creating a mayhem and terror in India is completely inexplicable, completely beyond comprehension. God alone knows where this pressure is coming from, which is that invisible hand which seems to be pressurising people in India to try and normalise..."
If the Indus Waters Treaty, signed in 1960, was a vital instrument of regional peace, stability, and cooperation, how come Pakistan initiated the 1965 war, the war in 1971 took place.
Pakistan has discarded the 1972 Simla Agreement.
In the 1990s Pakistan made terrorism an instrument of state policy.
Mumbai and several other terror attacks, even against the Indian parliament, were sponsored.
The Kargil aggression occurred after Vajpayee made the Lahore visit.
Army Chief Munir openly talks of irreconcilable differences between Hindus and Muslims in saying that their "religion, customs, traditions, thoughts, and ambitions" are entirely different.
Teror can be used as a weapon but “shared waters must never be weaponized.”
Other bridges, including trade, can be broken, but water “ must remain a bridge between nations”.
Even under the IWT Pakistan did all it could to complicate and delay Indian run of the river projects permitted by the IWT on rivers allotted to Pakistan.
@MIshaqDar50
The Pakistani lobby in India becoming active again. Have these same 100 ‘prominent ‘ people ever asked Pakistan to stop cross border terrorism? No! That is the Pak lobby and should be exposed and treated with contempt @Iyervval@republic
The world knows exactly how the last encounter ended...
Pakistan saw and felt how the last encounter ended...you told us so...these are after all clips from you people...so what are you threatening India about?
The outcomes won't change....I agree
@DrMariaSultan1 Last May Eleven Military Airbases of Nuclear Armed Country that is Pakistan got smoked by another Nuclear Armed Country that is India. India displayed Pakistan's Nuclear bluff publicly. Pakistan's Nuclear Doctrine expert Gen Khalid Kidwai went into hiding in a cave at ToraBora.
@DrMariaSultan1 The Indus Waters Treaty was built on goodwill and trust. India honored it despite wars and terror attacks. No treaty survives forever if trust is repeatedly broken. Pakistan cannot rely on terrorism as policy forever; lasting peace begins with being a responsible neighbor.
@DrMariaSultan1 Gentle Reminder !
Pakistan's declared policy : Killing India by thousands cut ( using terror proxy )
India's response : Killing Pakistan without water.
So, stop terror to get water.
Fair enough !
