For those of you who don't know, honey bees are not actually native to North America. This is important factor when people talk about "saving the bees". Because while much of the funding go into honey bees, they are not the ones at risk. Our native bees are actually at risk.
Oregon Grape is in stock! Beautiful evergreen foliage and yellow clusters of flowers sometimes blooming as early as February. Great food plant for bumble bees and mason bees! Also produces edible berries in the summer eaten by birds. It is a great alternative to English Holly!
One of the plants we have in stock is the Red Flowering Currant. It is highly Sought after by hummingbirds and well liked by a variety of native bees! Easy to grow in a variety of conditions. Cant go wrong with a Red Flowering Currant!
With a mission to save our native bees, PlanBee Native Plants is a company that’s dedicated to creating a community of pollinator guardians. You can buy BC Native Plants that support the Native Bees and wildlife. Open by appointment only :)
