“I love hearing people's stories or concerns and creating something around that, creating a narrative that has their voice,” says Jen.

Allyship has been part of Jen’s life since she was a little girl.
Raised by immigrant parents in a bakery that served as a support system for immigrants and refugees in Boston, Jen was inspired to use her passion for animation to tell refugees’ stories. #WithRefugees
Happy Halloween, ghosts & ghouls! Here at Planet Nutshell, we actually celebrated last week with a team adventure to Salem (which of course included a stop at the Peabody Essex Museum to see our very own Jane Winters’s animation on display!)
The folks at @RiseRecoverLive are harnessing the power of community to combat substance abuse. We had the honor of partnering with them to create some animations for their app to recruit more volunteers. Learn more about this project on our blog.

Not only were we able to help produce another episode of Design Squad Latinx with our friends at GBH, but this one is also about how to tell an effective story (something we like to think we know a bit about).

In honor of World Mental Health Day, we are resharing this oldie-but-important-y we made with our friends at McLean Hospital. If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that our mental health matters. Take care of yourself, friends.

Today marks the beginning of World Space Week. What better way to celebrate than with this episode of our Artsville web series, which takes place at the esteemed Artsville Space Center?

Not only are we halfway through Hispanic Heritage Month, but we are approaching the 1 year anniversary of our first-ever original short film, Azúcar, which highlights the hope & resilience that can be found in this community.

September is Happy Cat Month. Which makes us happy because now we have an excuse to resurface this clip of Milo, the star of the video we produced with our friends at @Covetrus.
With school now back in full swing, we wanted to throw it back and share some true picture day gems of our very own PN team. So proud of the talented adults these sweet, kinda awkward kids grew up to be.
This Labor Day, we want to honor the hard work of our friends at @RocaInc. Their transformative programs help break the cycle of poverty and incarceration in our hometown and beyond. They’re truly incredible, and deserve your support.

We have 2 thoughts to share this National Park Service Founders Day.
1) Our National Parks are incredible treasures & deserve to be preserved.
2) Our summer interns (like Dez Miller who created this illustration) are also incredible treasures & deserve to be appreciated.
On this day in 1920, the 19th Amendment was ratified, giving women the right to vote. Though we have come so far, there is still work to do. May we take the spirit of these original Suffragettes with us as we continue to fight for women’s rights.
Last week, we shared a sizzle of the graphics package we completed for our friends at UEN. This week, we are breaking down the project in detail, showing how we gave the network a whole new look & feel.

Over the years, we have partnered with UEN to create many wonderful videos, but recently, we were asked to take the style of those videos and translate them into a larger graphics package for the entire network. We are thrilled with how they turned out.

Out Planet is getting a tech upgrade, which means we are selling some of our current gear, starting with this speed-demon of an iMac. A truly top-of-the-line machine. Boston-area folks only, please.

Our Planet is getting bigger! Everyone, meet Jane Winters, a long-time freelancer turned full-time junior animator, as well as our fabulous summer interns Lee Chen and Dez Miller.
