Maybe this is mother nature's way of saying no to unnecessary parking minimums re the recent provincial ruling for TODs. This parcel is 550m away from rapid transit.
Video shows a wall at a Coquitlam construction site giving out on Wednesday. It happened in the area of Foster Avenue and North Road, with the city now warning of traffic impacts as emergency work is conducted.

@bikesnobnyc Long travel pattern studies/trip surveys aside, one could use Strava Metro, which lists ebike trips, and compare that to your city's traffic counting data set at the same time span to see what that yields.
@polarweasel @OurGreenway @samstarrcycles @tonyvalente_ca Not mine Alex, there was a lot of bicycle polygamy going on. My ride is the bike on the right in that photo though, although that Tern GSD is on loan from a pal while I await my new Tern HSD (8 month wait). RadWagon's are sweet! Checked one out today!
Ok that was way too much fun for only being an annual event! Look forward to the 3rd annual cargo bike ride next year from @OurGreenway, @samstarrcycles, @tonyvalente_ca! Great chats with so many wonderful people! Awesome bicycle diversity! Exciting times ahead for this 🚲 genre!
@mbonsma@OC_Transpo@TransLink There's been more than a few moments in my life where I've muttered: "dang, could really use a spare bus right now", but ya, this isn't one of those moments.
Good luck with this!
@mbonsma@OC_Transpo Maybe @OC_Transpo can connect with @TransLink to share their design for this (a number of them have been installed around Metro Vancouver, mainly at rapid transit stations and one at a city hall).

Try out the new bus bike rack at Main St-Science World SkyTrain Station- test out how to put your bike on a bus in a stress-free location so you can #biketotransit more often! @TransLink

7 bikes ahead of me. If we were all in cars and all stopped a couple metres a part from one another, you'd be looking at an entire block taken up by cars. Cars are square pegs in the round holes of cities. Glad these folks decided not to lug around such huge contraptions.
Traffic Engineer: I don't know guys, closing a road won't be good for fire truck access in an emergency
Fire fighters: ok boys let's take out ol' red for a coffee run, I found this really pleasant space with a great caf
@renomate@RaynaRambling clear width, in other words, meaning: usable sidewalk space. Ultimately the parking plan was reviewed by the eng dept, so someone signed off on this review but may have not considered the overhang from cars taking away usable sidewalk space - or their bylaw doesn't cover this.
