@hasanthehun Ruba Ghazal then defended her actions on Facebook, stating she did not mean it as a provocation. Being of Palestinian origin, she described the gesture as a "message of love to Quebec," the land that welcomed her with open arms as a child of refugees.
@hasanthehun Ruba Ghazal, Quebec's co-leader of Québec Solidaire (One of the only real left-wing party in the province) is under attack for wearing a keffiyeh to manifest solidarity towards Palestinians (she is of Palestinian descent)

@hasanthehun A citizen-launched petition on https://t.co/dmq4Xmxka6 calls for the resignation of Québec solidaire parliamentary leader Ruba Ghazal after she brandished a keffiyeh during the swearing-in ceremony at the Quebec's National Assembly.
@hasanthehun The Petition was launched by a citizen immediately following the ceremony, the initiative quickly gained traction, gathering over 34,000 signatures in less than 24 hours. The organizer, Éric Béland, called the gesture "inappropriate and out of place for an official ceremony,".
@hasanthehun The incident took place during the official ceremony. Ruba Ghazal took a keffiyeh that former QS leader Manon Massé was wearing around her shoulders and raised it in front of the cameras before returning it.
I will eventually present specific cases found out there on Twitter (oops.. ;) ) and show you some experts that are dedicated to showcasing actual documentation processes.
