The corruption here is off the charts. Rand Paul has just released a trove of emails showing Fauci soliciting various so-called scientists to nominate him for awards, many of which Fauci then went on to win, receiving substantial prize money in the process.

This needs to be forensically dissected, preferably by the DOJ. But even looking at just one example, Barton Haynes of Duke, the questions are staggering. Fauci personally petitioned Haynes to nominate him for an award, which Fauci ultimately won, including $1 million in prize money. That alone raises serious ethical concerns.

But what really knocked me off my chair is that Haynes has received something like $1.2 billion (with a "B") in funding from Fauci’s NIAID. The entire system is totally compromised, with a small circle of elites effectively doing favors for one another, all at taxpayer expense.

September 21, 2021. DEFUSE surfaces: a 2018 plan to insert furin cleavage sites into SARS-like coronaviruses, submitted by Daszak's EcoHealth Alliance with Baric and Wuhan's Shi Zhengli.

SARS-CoV-2 is the only betacoronavirus that has one.

Andrew Rambaut, on Daszak and Baric:

They'd spent 18 months telling the world a lab origin wasn't credible.

Then they saw a 2018 proposal to insert a furin cleavage site into a SARS-like coronavirus, from a team that included the Wuhan lab — written a year and a half before SARS-CoV-2 emerged with one in Wuhan.

Rambaut:

"It really isn't beyond plausibility that someone went ahead and tried some of this stuff. We just need to re-convince ourselves it is coincidence."

Holmes:

"It is very striking that a bat-derived CoV with an FCS turns up in a city that was on a grant proposing to muck around with FCSs in bat-derived CoVs."

Andersen:

"This can't (shouldn't) be dismissed out of hand."

"There's a big difference between 'the lab was working on bat CoVs' to 'the lab was modifying bat CoVs using features we see being unique to SC2.'"

Then, as they split up the review, Rambaut:

"And stay off email."
