📢Today is THE DAY - The People Vs Plastic protests are happening nationwide.

✊Check the link below to find your nearest protest, tag us in any photos #peoplevsplastic.

📢We’re drowning in plastic. Big brands keep pumping it out. Governments look the other way. Meanwhile, our ocean, our health, and our planet pay the price.

🚨Enough is enough. We need the UK Government to step up now — commit to a bold Global Plastic Treaty, change the law, build a circular economy, and hold polluters to account.

💥CALL TO ACTION💥
When you’re out and about, please use this super easy tool to help us gather data on the state of roads all over Britain. There’s four categories describing the amount - if any(!) - of litter on the road where you are. Many thanks.

Single-use plastic waste on UK and Channel Island beaches ‘up by 9.5% last year’ https://t.co/sRWM7WtBza

[Zero Waste Scotland @ZeroWasteScot]

While some of these cups may be recycled, a lot of them are binned or even littered. The best way to tackle this problem is by reducing our usage of them.

Do your bit for Scotland's environment by switching to a reusable cup and #DitchingTheDisposables.

Did you take part in the #BigPlasticCount?

220 people took part in the count overall in Edinburgh West, counting 5,856 plastic items altogether.

Now what can we do to reduce that?

[Plastic Free Queensferry @PlasticFreeQF]

My no-plastic life: I tried to cut out single-use items for a month – and it almost broke me https://t.co/4KiMopU8zk

A couple of pieces of #litter on every walk is all we ask to protect animals, communities & the #environment. Not a big ask if you love dogs. We have a vested interest don’t we?

Join 26,000 dog owners removing 38+ million pieces every year…a few bits at a time. dogsofx #snow
