“They understand the blueprint. The process.. What I expect. The standard.” - Curt Cignetti
That’s culture.
Your players shouldn’t have to guess:
What matters.
What’s expected.
What winning behavior looks like.
Clarity creates confidence.
Consistency creates culture.👇

Championship teams aren't built when everyone gets to do what they want.
They're built when everyone commits to doing what the team needs.
Too many people become attached to titles.
Status.
Recognition.
Being "the star."
But winning has never required everyone to be the leading scorer.
It requires everyone to own their role—and execute it at an elite level.
I've watched players sacrifice shots, minutes, and personal statistics because they understood something many people never learn:
The scoreboard doesn't care who gets the credit.
Neither does sustained success.
Every team has roles that are glamorous.
And every team has roles that are essential.
The most valuable teammate isn't always the one in the spotlight.
It's the one who consistently asks:
"What does this team need from me today?"
Sometimes the answer is to lead.
Sometimes it's to support.
Sometimes it's to listen.
Sometimes it's to challenge.
Sometimes it's simply to bring great energy and professionalism.
Winning requires all of it.
You have to be willing to trade a little of the "me" for the success of the "we."
That's not sacrificing your identity.
That's elevating your impact.
Here's the paradox of high-performing teams:
- You need strongly opinionated A-players
- You need them align on the best answer
You want conflict. It drives creativity. It fights complacency. But more importantly, you want it productively resolved.
At Bridgewater, I was often called in to help people resolve heated debates. The egoless A-player is stuff of corporate fantasy. I quickly learned that when you open the floor to two entrenched high-performers, they'll immediately retake their fortified positions.
Instead, I had to lead the conversation. The trick that worked for me? Start at the top of the pyramid and methodically working my way down:
Mission - Do we agree on our mission?
Goals - And X is the next most important goal?
Path - Does our chosen path still make sense?
Obstacle - Do we see the same obstacle holding us back?
Evidence - What evidence makes this a critical obstacle?
Priority - Are we paying the proper attention to it?
Options - What are the options we rejected to solve this?
Solution - Will the solution address the issue?
This approach allows three things to happen:
1. You reestablish just how much agreement exists between the two parties. Disagreement becomes a detail.
2. You uncover the underlying source of the disagreement. People tend to get stuck without realizing the real disagreement is higher up.
3. You give them a reusable framework to reconcile future disagreements on their own. "When in doubt, zoom out." This is leveraged leadership.
By guiding this conversation, you allow the two parties to unlock the issue themselves.
And if not, you gain the context you need to decide how to move the team forward.

I'm in love with this quote:
"You can't give your life more time. So give the time you have more life."
Don't just exist, but live.
Time for me to double down on
giving the time I have more life. Starting today.

History for Jordy Frahm.

Nebraska’s crowd is so loud that Ole Miss can barely communicate.
Back-to-back-to-back stoppages without a pitch being thrown, and then the pitcher hits a batter.
