@silverhorse555 @HillbillyTesla @Henry68157 Anxiety meds same thing. You get meds to deal with crippling anxiety but don’t work to get off of them and you become addicted. Without them though you might never overcome your anxiety.

Lots of reasons to use addictive substances, problem of addiction is its another disease

@silverhorse555 @HillbillyTesla @Henry68157 Pain medications are incredibly addictive, but people take them for pain, and then get hooked. People who would never use illegal drugs find themselves buying illegal pills because of a failed pain management plan that led to addiction.

@silverhorse555 @HillbillyTesla @Henry68157 What’s crazy is the people who use without ever going through withdrawal when they quit. I didn’t experience a single withdrawal symptom when I quit smoking. I just quit. Others get raging headaches, cravings, you name it.

Not everyone gets addicted to alcohol, but the addict will absolutely become addicted to it. There are cultural, celebratory and religious reasons to have a drink. But the addict cannot.
