@AmandaFBelfast I love the insight Irish opens up into our surroundings, in particular through place names ... e.g. Tandragee: from Irish Tรณin re Gaoith, meaning 'backside to the wind' ๐
@PoliceServiceNI More mis-information that will harm traders income... for all traders within the city and their employees. Which only harm the people from these inner city areas ... like Donegal Rd, Sandy Rd etc ๐
@TheBrave131689 @JanekDaw @BBCNewsNI But the verse before says olive trees will grow on your land ... I'm not sure that applies to you, or your country??
Reading the Bible literally- trying to make bits of it justify your position is a waste of time.
Jesus came in person to teach and establish the new covenant /1
@Tipler1983 Its a shame these competitions are so named. We didn't let our children take part in a tournaments so named, since the IRA member had threatened members of our (Catholic) family. Many locals boycotted it ... I'm. not sure if it still exists .. if so it is a lot lower profile.
@richardtgarland Not so sure about this one...
the taking part in celebration is one thing - same as waving a Linfield flag (after a win)...
but that was a very dodgy bit of driving with one hand on the wheel!!
I would deffo expect anyone else to get pulled if they did the same manouever ๐
@KilclooneyJohn@BrianODowd5 @BrendanKenny3 @MartinShort64 But John, silver is silver ... not Irish silver or British silver, but Olympic Silver!!
If he didn't qualify for the GBNI squad, did he just turn round and beat them all while representing Ireland???
Very sad twisting about a world event ... Stirring tension - shame on you ๐
@realZacTC in that area.
Otherwise, it's down to choice .. send your children to that school, or don't - there is no compulsion to attend Irish medium schools anywhere in the North. 3/3
@realZacTC Saying you are against the language because republicans politicised it , is only politicising the language now by loyalists.
These nonsense arguments mask any genuine concerns about resourcing/ other use of the proposed venue etc .. which will genuinely impact people .../2
@jackstevie113@Reunify32 According to https://t.co/LkOT2DqEo7, 2022 Census: - 1.9 million people indicated that they could speak Irish to varying degrees of fluency. 10% could speak the language very well, 32% spoke Irish well, while 55% of Irish speakers did not speak it well.
@cellah26bsky There is just no awareness, respect or care for anyone they speak about... just throw out insults about individuals and groups... and expect everyone to love you ๐
There is so much harm being done that they will never recognise or acknowledge.
@RosieJayO_D @RonanMcCay It doesn't read it as wanting to exclude Sinn Fein... but wanting to include a broader diversity of peacemakers.
Who did they make peace with? They didn't make peace just by themselves!
John Hume's mission was involved with SF, Unionists, Irish, British , EU &USA polititians etc
@C_Fitz_@ciara_hackett Enjoy these years of wonder as little minds soak up so much from you & learn how to live in the big amazing world. Its a privilege that not everyone gets or appreciates.
Unfortunately, in a blink this phase is over & life moves on. Relish it-no matter what it throws at you.
