Year 1 have been trying to identify the diet of different animals by being play-dough poop detectives. They identified carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. @C1Pleasant@PleasantStPrim
Today Year 3 were investigating the impact friction has on the car travelling over different surfaces. They measured how far their cars travelled using a tape measure, measuring the distance in cm. @C3Pleasant@PleasantStPrim
Year 2 have been learning the importance of personal hygiene and investigating how quickly germs ๐ฆ can spread. Two children had glittery hands after shaking hands with each other, all the class had glitter on their hands @C2Pleasant@PleasantStPrim
Year 5 worked in pairs and used force meters to measure the weight of some objects. In science, the weight of an object is defined as the force of gravity on the object and is measured in newtons. @C5Pleasant@PleasantStPrim
Year 5 have been investigating different forces including friction, and were amazed how friction stopped the 2 interlocking books being pulled apart. They also tried to create balanced forces with a ball and 2 straws. @C5Pleasant@PleasantStPrim
Year 4 have been examining their teeth and observing how different the incisors and canines are. They also ate apples to notice the function of each type of tooth. @C4Pleasant@PleasantStPrim
Year 3 continued their study of โForces and Magnetsโ last week by investigating the strengths of magnets. Using magnets, paint and magnetic objects in plastic trays, they made their individual artwork. @C3Pleasant@PleasantStPrim
Year 1 were using thermometers last week. They observed what happens when they put the thermometer in ice. โThe red line moved downโ, showing that the temperature of the ice was colder. They put warm coloured water on the ice and observed it melting. @C1Pleasant@PleasantStPrim

On Friday, Year 1 were able to enjoy playing in the snow and then whilst back in their class they explored ice melting by touching the blocks of ice and by pouring warm water over the ice. @C1Pleasant@PleasantStPrim
