Unless I'm blanking out (and I could be), I think I've only just now seen this promo film of the Flamin' Groovies doing Slow Death at the Marquee in 1972.
This is my jam.
Bought OTD in 1971: this was a big album for me so I like the whole thing (even the Mike Love track that everyone hates). There are so many delights - Don’t Go Near the Water, Surf’s Up, Looking at Tomorrow (phasing) but the stand out is Carl’s Feel Flows
December MOJO out today! A full 6-pages and interviews with Ed, Ivor and Kym plus Mick and Mark from The Saints '73-'78. Also includes a 10/10 review of the (I'm) Stranded 4-disc box set.
These awesome CDs, The Dogs and Tony Marsico and the Ugly Thingz, arrived in the mail today. Thank you, Loren Molinare. They are available on Rum Bar Records.
Issue 4. It's been five years! I'm looking to interview The Vaselines again. I've sent an email, and I am waiting for a reply. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Photo credit: Stephen McRobbie (The Pastels)
Second Scene Issue 19. I'm pleased with how this Issue turned out. As always, it has been a learning experience (positive). What an experience it has been. It has grown beyond my wildest dreams. I want to thank all those who have and continue to support the Second Scene.
Second Scene Issue 19 arrives tomorrow, and mailing orders will begin. I've started work on Issue 20 and plan to publish it in January. This is a temporary front cover.
