Trump said something to me in 2016 that I’ve never forgotten.
He asked if I thought the British were going to Brexit. I said no because economically it made no sense.
He said you’re looking at it as an economic decision. It’s not. It’s an emotional one.
Three weeks later, June 2016, they Brexited.
That was the moment I understood something real about the reality of politics in the US and the UK.
Would I be surprised if Farage became Prime Minister? Not really.
The Conservatives had their run. Labour is struggling.
We’re in an anti-incumbency era across the entire West and Reform has never actually held power.
So people shrug and say it can’t get any worse, let’s try something new.
I hope it doesn’t happen. I think their policies are asinine.
But I said Brexit couldn’t happen either.
Dear Reform-voting ladies…
Do you know you’re voting for a party that wants to:
❌ Scrap the Equality Act - your legal protection against workplace discrimination & unequal pay
❌ Kill the Online Safety Act - the law protecting you from revenge porn
❌ Vote AGAINST the bill to stop workplace sexual harassment
❌ Stack the party with anti-abortion politicians - some opposing termination even in cases of rape
❌ Push “pro-family” policies that put women back in the home
I guess the question is…
Do you hate immigrants more than you love your rights?
Look at Donald Trump closely.
His voice is hoarse, he looks exhausted, he’s tweeting at all hours of the night, he’s falling asleep at the desk during the day.
This is not a man at peace.
He's deeply worried about the poll numbers.
The economy is under threat. Gas prices are way up and he's at war.
At war with an enemy that understands him better than he understands them.
We can pretend he's superhuman. We can pretend none of this gets to him.
But he's a human being like the rest of us.
And right now, that human being is cracking under the pressure. @CNN
